![]() I've used both orb and blizzard builds and personally prefer the blizzard build. And, of course, depending on your tastes, there are alternatives for rare shields, though you won't ever find a +2 to all skills modifier on a shield. It's not really about the defense or block, although that's nice. 25-35 FCR, res, +2 to all skills, energy I think (it's been a while). Your merc should be taking most of the hits and if need be you can teleport away to regroup. Higher life will help to keep you alive and hopefully from getting into hit recovery when you do get hit. Since the shield only blocks against physical hits and most of those are melee. As a caster you should not be getting into melee range. I have always went with a 2-handed staff. ![]() Diablo 2‘s loot system is widely considered one of the most fun systems to play through, so have fun with your builds, and don’t forget to get creative.I would go with investing points into Vitality.
